A message from Marilyn...

I have always had a desire to be a marriage celebrant helping couples to make their wedding day as special and memorable as it should be.

I grew up on a dairy farm in the Canungra district. I enjoy ballroom dancing and was selected to be the first Miss Albert Shire in 1968 from 14 finalists. After I was married I was asked to judge on a number of judging panels in competitions.

I have worked in real estate for 20 years and enjoyed helping couples find their dream home, listening to their wishes and matching that wish to a property.

My husband, Joe, and I have been happily married for 40 years. We have been blessed with four children, who are all happily married and we now have seven lovely grandchildren.

Through my love and dedication to my family and Tamborine Mountain I have been involved with many activities and organisations such as:

• Tamborine Mountain Rotary Club
• Vonda Youngman Community Centre
• Co-ordinator of the local Debutante Balls
• Co-ordinator of Salvation Army Red Shield Appeal to mention a few.

I love people and working with them, taking great pride in seeing their achievements as well as being a part of their journey. In 1989 I became a Justice of the Peace, and in 1999 upgraded to Qualified. This has allowed me to put something of value into the community. I have the honour and trust of many elderlly folk, to oversee and watch out for their personal requirements, and requests. This is quite a privilege.
